Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3)
Mechanism of Action:
Neurotransmitter Inhibition: Argireline inhibits the release of neurotransmitters by interfering with the formation and stabilization of the protein complex needed for acetylcholine vesicle docking. This reduction in neurotransmitter release leads to decreased muscle activity.
Wrinkle Reduction: By limiting muscle
contraction, Argireline reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine
lines, primarily around the eyes. This results in smoother, more
youthful-looking skin.
Experimental Use:
Application in Studies: In an open study, a serum containing Argireline was applied twice daily. After one month, participants observed a 27% reduction in periorbital wrinkle depth.
Combination with Leuphasyl: In a study
involving 15 volunteers aged 39 to 63, a cream/serum containing 5% Argireline
and 5% Leuphasyl was applied twice daily. This combination resulted in a
reduction of wrinkles by 24.62%, with maximum reductions of up to 46.53%. The
synergistic effects of both peptides enhance their individual benefits.
Topical Preparation:
Dissolution Process: To prepare Argireline for topical use, add 1ml of sterile water to the vial containing the peptide powder. Allow the solution to dissolve on its own without shaking. Once dissolved and clear, mix the solution with 50ml of a non-scented cream or oil.
Application: Apply the prepared cream or
oil to the targeted skin areas as needed.
Benefits:
Reduces Dynamic Wrinkles: Helps diminish
expression wrinkles around the mouth, forehead, and crow’s feet by limiting
muscle movement.
Promotes Collagen Production: Boosts
collagen synthesis, leading to firmer, plumper skin.
Skin Moisturization: Enhances moisture retention for healthier and more hydrated skin.
